2008 Komen Portland Race for the Cure® - Sunday - September 21- 5:00 am
*** SSTV Event ***
*** APRS Event ***
Radio operators are stationed at first aid stations and other intersections to watch for participants who need help as well as some traffic control. The Race for the Cure web site has the route map as well as other useful information.  The site is www.komenoregon.org
The Race officials use amateur radio operators to help communicate problems on the course to either the first aid stations, or to the net control located at the finish line in Waterfront Park, as well as to help the Portland Police working with the Race with traffic control at a few intersections. Operators should be in place by 6:00 a.m. and ready to check-in with net control. Voice and SSTV will be used.

The 2008 Race for the Cure will be held in Portland on Sunday September 21.  The event will start from Waterfront Park and the route will be similar to last year's.  If you are interested in helping with the amateur radio communications team, contact Barbara Yasson AC7UH via e-mail at:  ac7uh@arrl.net.
