Winlink training - Saturday - September 20

Come see what Winlink 2000 is all about. No equipment is required if
you just want to learn about Winlink 2000. But if you have one of the
following please bring it along so we can get you set up. Those with
just a laptop will be able to install the program(s), get setup and get
their password from Winlink.org
1. Windows 98 Portable Packet set-up with hardware TNC. (Airmail only)
2. Windows XP Portable Packet set-up with hardware TNC. (Paclink MP or
Airmail)
3. Windows XP Portable Packet set-up with sound card and interface
(Paclink MP only)
Laptops with wireless are a big plus but we will have one or two
community ones that can be used to request passwords.
We will help you install the following programs for Windows XP:
Microsoft .net 2.0
Paclink MP
AGWPE (Software TNC for sound cards)
and this program for For Win98:
Airmail (must have a hardware TNC)

Radio
operators are
stationed
at first aid stations and other intersections to watch for participants
who need help as well as some traffic control. The Race for the Cure
web
site has the route map as well as other useful information. The
site
is www.komenoregon.org
The
Race
officials use amateur
radio operators to help communicate problems on the course to either
the
first aid stations, or to the net control located at the finish line in
Waterfront Park, as well as to help the Portland Police working with
the
Race with traffic control at a few intersections. Operators should be
in
place by 6:00 a.m. and ready to check-in with net control. Voice and
SSTV
will be used.
The 2008 Race for the Cure
will
be held in Portland on Sunday September 21. The event will start
from Waterfront Park and the route will be similar to last
year's. If you are interested in helping with the amateur radio
